DOEN Foundation is the fund of the Dutch Charity Lotteries: Postcode Lottery, the Sponsor Lottery and the BankGiro Lottery. DOEN promotes a liveable world in which everyone can play a part. To this end, it provides funding to organizations and projects in the fields of Sustainable Development, Culture, Welfare and Social Inclusion. DOEN Foundation finances initiatives that are both enterprising and sustainable through subsidies, loans, guarantees or participations.

With the revenues of the Dutch Postcode Lottery DOEN supports initiatives in the field of sustainable development, such as the Cup of Excellence. Apart from sustainability in coffee production, which is very important to DOEN, the Cup of Excellence focuses mainly on product quality. The Cup of Excellence gives exposure and acknowledgment to the top of coffee producers in different (developing) countries. This is important to DOEN because coffee producers are exhilarated to be acknowledged for their dedication to quality. The producer gets a higher prize for his coffee and is recognized in the industry for his quality coffee. In the end this gives the country a better reputation in coffee production.
