Café Alejandra

History
Florencia Fernández has been married for eleven years and has two children, Alejandra and Óscar, who are nine and eight respectively. She feels very pleased to have won, because she only has a little experiences in coffee production. her family produced other products. Now that she has entered into coffee production, her family’s life is centered around this crop. When her children go to school, she and her husband work on their production. On weekends, the children also work in the whole process. Florencia stayed in the Yungas region in spite of the fact that her whole family – her parents and three brothers – returned to their native Oruro. She made the decision to stay with her husband because she believes that coffee is a secure product. ”Coffee sustains my household. I want to continue improving, in order to have more economic resources. I don’t want to be left behind. I want to continue to improve my coffee. I’m going to get to first place.”
