| Overview Sítio dos Estouros was acquired by Mr.
Palmerindo Miranda in 1947. He left it as an inheritance to his
children. Currently, Mr. José Mauro Miranda, coffee producer, manages
this part of the farm.
Sítio dos Estouros has four water sources and a river with a
magnificent waterfall, which crosses the whole property. The land is
rough with altitudes varying between 900 and 1,200 meters. It has a
reforested area of 6 hectares. The whole watercourse is protected by
ciliary woods.
Coffee processing system
Coffee is picked manually, in order to generate jobs. After the
coffee is picked it is washed, and subsequently it is transferred to the
cherry pulper. The water used during this phase is totally recycled
using a settling tank.
In sequence, the beans are transferred to the cemented and suspended
terraces to dry, there they are separated according to quality. After
the quality selection, the lots are maintained separated in warehouses.
Concern with quality
Mr. José Mauro Miranda is always seeking new ways to
improve the quality of the coffees grown at Sitio dos Estouros, from
planting to harvesting. Sítio dos Estouros is a member of the Associação
dos Produtores de Cafés Especiais de Araponga (above 1000 m altitude),
which promotes courses and lectures for its members to improve the
quality of the coffees they produce.
