Overview

Tijuco Preto Farm is privileged by its location at only 4 km of the city Carmo de Minas, in the South of Minas Gerais. It has an entry road covered with asphalt and from the farm it is possible to see the mountain “Serra da Mantiqueira”. The farm produces, in 70 from its 246 hectares, coffee of the varieties Mundo Novo, Acaiá, Catuaí and Yellow Bourbon. We can find clean water springs, native wood and waterfalls totally preserved on the farm. Its coffee production is considered today one of the best coffee of Brazil.

Processing system of the coffee beans

The harvest is done by hand, in a selective way, with all the necessary care for the coffee beans to remain in a perfect conservation. The coffee is transported to the area of the farm where we can find the machinery in which the coffee is pulped and after is spread on the patios in slim layers that are raked about 20 times a day, until it reaches 11% of humidity, when it can be taken to the wood storehouses, in pergaminos. There, the coffee rests for about 60 days. After this, it is processed and kept in the COCARIVE warehouses for sale.

The property lands show high quality, a good soil handling and dedication of the owners and workers, what results in a very awarded coffee in Brazil and exported worldwide. Prizes: • BSCA • Illy • La Médaille d’Argent, dans la catégorie Café Arabica Nature, promoted by AVPA (Agence por la Valorisation dês Produits Agricoles), in the city of Paris, France. • Contest of Coffee Quality of Minas Gerais state. Countries to which the farm already exported: Japan, USA, Norway, Italy and France.
