Overview
Coqueiros Farm is located in the city of Carmo de Minas, in the heart
of a region that is the biggest coffee producer of the world, the South
of Minas. Its altitude, the good quality of the soil and regular rains
make the farm and ideal place for the production of the best coffee of
Minas. All these qualities, joined to the love and dedication of its
owners make the coffee of this farm really special.
Processing system of the coffee beans
The harvest is done by hand, over a cloth, to avoid the contact with
the soil. After that, the coffee beans are washed, pulped and spread on
the patios on the same day. Then, they go to the drier machine, after to
the wood storehouses, and go back to the drier until they reach 10,5% of
humidity, when they are taken to the storehouses again to rest for 30
days. Finally, the coffee is processed and kept in the Cooperative
warehouses, where they will do the definite classification of the
pattern.
Concern on the quality
Nowadays, Coqueiros Farm has a good infrastructure, with nice
machinery, and it tries to improve the quality of the coffee produced
continuously. Several visits are done to many organizations, to exchange
experience with other producers, searching new patterns of quality of
the coffee. The production of special coffee requires a lot of
dedication of the owner Mr. José Clóvis Carneiro Ribeiro, who is a
cooperate of COCARIVE.
