This project is owned by the family Giraldo Agudelo, is a product of the integration of Raquel (wife), Luis (husband), 4 sons and a José (Luis’ brother). Three farms decided to work together to produce the coffee lot to be presented in the competition. All the three small farms are managed as one familiar enterprise. The farms have been property of the family for several generations. This family is the leader of the Associative Group “Los Sauces” of the Cooperative of Coffee Growers of Andes, Antioquia.
Environmental Care
This farm is part of the project to preservation and protection of the “Loro Orejiamarillo” – Yellow ear parrot (Ognorhychus Icterotis) which is almost extinct in Colombia. Additionally they are part of the ecological group “profauna”. They use the byproducts from the wet milling to produce organic fertilizers. They also protect the water sources.

Disease and Pest Control: Cultural control of broca (Re Re), in extreme cases they uses category III and IV pesticides
