| History
At the beginning I was working as a coffee picker in different
producing departments, such as Huila, Tolima, Cundinamarca, Valle and
Antioquia. In 1991 I decided to come back to my town, with a different
vision of the coffee culture, so I started almost immediately with my
own farm.
A couple of years after this, I started working with other crops, but
the results were not good enough, so I came back to the coffee crops.
Since 2002 I have been producing specialty coffees in the category of
preparation coffees.
Environmental Care
There is a small mountain in the middle of the farm
which I protect permanently. I don't allow the people to cut trees nor
hunting there. Additionally, I have good control of organic and
inorganic wastes, such as glass, plastic and metals.
Coffee Processing Information
I apply chemical fertilizer three times per year, at a rate of 60
grams per tree.
We have two crops in the farm, the main one between May and June,
with an 80% of the harvest, the fly crops is between October and
December with the 20%. The wet milling process is done in the following
way: picking up the ripe beans, depulping process the same day,
fermentation for 12 – 14 days, washing with fresh water. There is no
mixing of coffee from different pickings.
