| History
I received the faro as an inheritance 18 years ago.
It was a challenge for me because for being a woman, it was hard to try
with the employees. However, I could show them I had the courage to work
hard. I started with small lots, and now I have almost 10 hectares of
high quality coffee of varieties Colombia and Caturra.
Environmental Care
I take good care of the natural sources of fresh
water in the farm; there are bamboos in the borders of the river.
Additionally I apply the pulp as organic fertilizer. I do a rational use
of chemical products in the farm.
Coffee Processing Information
Chemical fertilizing is done twice per year, one in February and the
other in October. Thanks to the altitude of the farm, I don't have any
troubles with Broca and other pests.
We only pick up ripe beans; the depulping is done the same day of the
picking. The fermentation takes the necessary time and washing is done
with fresh water. Drying process is done by sun exposure; however, in
rainy days we use the mechanical drier.
