History
I come from a typical coffee growers family, I got married
when I was very young, but my husband died many years ago. So, I, alone,
had to work very hard to maintain and educate my 5 children. Now, they help
me a lot in the farm which we bought in 1991. I am a member of the Cooperative
of Huila CADEFIHUILA
Environmental Care
I have in the farm a forest reserve of 0.5 hectares,
this is a protected area where the natural source of fresh water is located.
All the byproducts from the farm are managed properly to avoid the contamination
of the sources of water.
Coffee Processing Information
All the pest control I make in the farm is entirely cultural,
I don't use pesticieds. The main harvest in the farm is between November
and January with the 70% of the harvest. The fly crop takes place at the
middle of the year. I only pick red cherries and depulping is done the same
day.
