History
Before buying my farm, I was a worker in a sugar cane
producing farm, then I got a credit with the bank and I could buy the farm
with the support of my wife. We had three children (1 boy and 2 girls).
Right now my son is in charge of the farm. I also have crops of corn, red
beans, yucca and other tubercles.
Environmental Care
Thanks to the manage of the environment, natural resources,
native trees, etc., it was really easy to get the Rainforest Alliance certification
a couple of years ago. We can't burn, cut or hunt in the farm. I prepare
my own organic fertilizer, using the pulp of the coffee and dung of the
cattle and the hens, and the wastes of the house.
Coffee Processing Information
The wet milling process is done with the traditional
way. There are tanks for the residual waters from the washing process, drying
process is done in the patio. The water which I use in the process has good
quality and I try to use a minimum quantity.
