Overview
Cafetalera Herbazú is a family company of coffee growers that has
been dedicated to coffee growing, for over 50 years. We are the proud
owners of our plots and started with the milling process in the year
2001, because of the low coffee prices in the market, searching for an
alternative that would allow us to keep alive the coffee activity.
The Barrantes family is considered one of the first pioneers of the
micro-mill revolution in Costa Rica. They are consistently ranked among
the best farms in the country and in COE.
Located at 1500 meters above sea level in Lourdes of Naranjo, were
the climate is just perfect for the coffee farming. Barrantes is a 4
hectare farm that produces the coffee variety VILLA SARCHI which has a
citric acidity, an excellent body and a very distinctive aftertaste.
We have tried to maintain a traditional, good practice production
were the coffee is picked and milled the same day and the coffee
parchment is dried mostly by sun.
