Histroy
Mr. Salguero is a 55 years old coffee producer, two years ago he lost
his right leg, therefore he moves him self using a wheelchair. It´s hard
for him to do his job with all the passion he puts in each of his
activities.
He had been producing coffee from 20 years, and his wife Lisida del
Carmen Barrera, is always besides him supporting and helping in all the
activities related to the family. Mr. Salguero is the father of a nice
and big family of 7children:
Elvin and Jorge Alberto that have only finished their elementary
school an they support their parents in the farm and giving education
for the rest of their siblings: Hugo Edgardo is 16 years old and he will
inherit 2 of the property where they got the coffee that will be
auctioned through internet next coming June. Hugo and his sister Otilia
study Business Administration in Alvaro Contreras School , in Santa Rosa
de Copan City; Roney studies Agronomy in Pompilio Ortega located in
Macuelizo Santa Barbara. Odalis Noemi is in 8 th grade in Ramon Villeda
Morales High School Encarnacion, Ocotepeque, and Milbia Idania is in 5
th grade in Centenos School.
Quality Practices
Many labour practices are done in the coffee
plantation during the year. Each of them are performed with special care
in order to protect the beautiful forest that surrounds the farm. The
coffee is processed by using traditional methods, Mr Salguero owns a
pulping machine and dry the grain over cement platforms by using the
heat of sunrays. he uses organic fertilizers and when necessary
supplements with Nitrogen.
Environmental Care
This Coffee is shade grown but in addition offering a
very special view of an agri-environmental production system.
Fertilization
Mr Salguero uses organic fertilizer coming from the
treatment of the pulp with the Californian earthworm. when necessary he
uses Nitrogen supplements. After each harvest the plant are prunes in
order to stimulate it to a better production. The shade is also control
in order to assure the entrance of the right amount of light.

Harvesting
Handpicking of ripe grains of Coffee begins in December and finish in
April. This task is performed by skillful men and woman.
Pulping and Fermentation
Mrs. Salguero has his own wet mill in which he does this processing
task. there is a fermentation tank, a pulping machine and a selection
canal where the first and second quality coffees are separated.
