Overview

I am Rosalio Mejia Medina, I am 59 years old and was born, raised and live in the comunity of Los Planes, Dipilto, Nueva Segovia. I was raised in life as a coffee producer and this is my life and livelihood.

My husband and I have five children; we all worry and work towards the improvement of the quality of our coffee. During the harvest period we all work supervising the picking process and selection of the finest beans to de-pulp. Earning second place in the Cup of Excellence 2006 has made my family and myself very happy.

Having a good cultivar, using organic fertilizers, paying close attention to the fermentation time as well as the natural conditions of the farm have contributed greatly to the quality of our coffee.

This is the second time my family and I participate in the Cup of Excellence, the first time we participated we obtained the 19 place. Our great efforts in the production of quality coffee are being noticed by the cuppers and it fulfill our expectations and satisfies us to know that we are always improving, and we know that we have a greater chance to earn the first place in the Cup of Excellence of 2007.

I trust that our coffee will be sold into the most demanding markets of the world obtaining a high price for its quality, which means better economic opportunities for our family and farm.
