Overview
My name is Domingo Herrera Ruiz, I am 58 years old
and father of seven children. I live in the city of Ocotal, Nueva
Segovia for the last 40 years. My farms El Cipres is located in Dipilto,
where I produce on average 333 bags (69kg) of coffee per year. For the
last forty year I have dedicated my life to growing coffee and raising
cattle, since that is where my experience has been acquired.
This is the second time I earn the third place in the
Cup of Excellence, and it gives me greater opportunity and hope to be
able to sell all my production of coffee at a better price. I am very
happy with my achievements in the Cup of Excellence. As a results of the
economic incentives from last years auction I was able to improve the
yields of this year’s crop as well as improvements on the infrastructure
of the farm.
I am a coffee producer that goes to great strides to
supervise the coffee though out all its different processes. To maintain
its excellence (the coffees), I give an extra incentives to the workers
and am very careful during the harvest and wet milling process. In my
quality processes Atlantic Export is very active supporting me whenever
I need it since it is through Atlantic that I sell all my coffee.
By improving in the different process of my coffee
and with hope and faith that I have in God I see the opportunity to
continue to participate in the Cup of Excellence in order to earn and
maintain the first place trophy. |
