Overview

My name is Ofelia Vasquez Funes, I am 30 years old, mother of 1 child and live in Telpaneca, Madriz.

With help of my entire family and by inheritance of my father I have dedicated the last 8 years in the production of coffee and for reasons of diversification we have also dedicated to herd breeding.

Although I have been working in coffee for the past 8 years, it was just last year that we began working with high grown coffee, for which there is a different management and care even from defining the varieties Caturra and Bourbon. We harvest only ripe coffee cherries and the process is clean and the selection is precise.

My farm San Antonio is located at 17 kilometers from Telpaneca Madriz, for which possesses conditions that are privileged and that favour the coffee quality. The height is at 1,250 mts above sea level. The climate is convenient, although our work that we do during all the year has allowed us to reach and win the prize of the Cup of Excellence even though it is the first time that we participate. This motivates me because I have the security that we are doing a good job and we could still improve some more with the objective to increase the quality of high grown coffee because we see the opportunity to continue to participate and win better positions for which will permit to sell at a much better price.
