Overview

I am a medium-sized producer in the El Apante community of Matagalpa, with a career as an Industrial Tradesman plus studies completed outside of the country. Since 28 years ago I’ve been completely dedicated to coffee. My name is Carlos Candelario Flores Chavarria, I’m 45 years old and have 5 children to whom I dedicate my time in addition to producing coffee.

Since I started out as a founding member of the Cecocafen cooperative, which has as a characteristic: Improve the quality of the coffee, we had a vision of marketing our own coffee, seeking markets outside of the country and over time we have achieved this. In addition, we work with the goal of planting in order to reap and this prize from the Cup of Excellence is a harvest. I thank God for finishing among the top 25 finalists in Nicaragua on my third attempt.

On the farm, we work as a team, the administrator, the supervisors, the cooks… everyone who works here is truly dedicated and strict about their work, this is why the prize is of great satisfaction to everyone, we are reaping all the effort that we’ve sown. The commitment and wisdom so that things are done better, together with the natural conditions of the farm and the need to be organized, has enabled us to maintain our enthusiasm in the ongoing search for the best quality of our coffee.

We will continue to be very strict, we will continue to look for information about coffee and the need to continue measuring ourselves motivates us to continue participating in the Cup of Excellence competition in order to sell our coffee for even better prices.
