“Santa Guadalupe” Estate, Jinotega
Jaime Rosales Pasquier
This may be the farm with the best facilities, but
that is not the only virtue of the farm “Santa Guadalupe”. This farm has
a special development in the variety of coffee; this happens thanks to
the workers, they receive an extra salary and excellent meal is served
to the 250 workers during the picking season.
“La casona” (farm house) as they usually call the
house of the Mandador (farm manager), is a modern construction where a
TV has been installed for the entertainment of the workers. For the 60
permanent workers there are small houses with comfort ad security for
the workers and their families.
Jaime Rosales Pasquier, is a young coffee producer
who has experienced with different types of crops and due to his
tradition and experience he is determined to achieve the highest scores
regarding the classification of the farms.
“I have wanted to optimize a good human team within
the farm... we also have pigs and fowls in order to improve the meals
for the workers. As I tell you the social component for the Rosales is
of main importance... our administrator Marlon Mejia helps us to
guarantee everything that I have mentioned”
While he tells us his comments, he offers us to walk
around the coffee plantation and the strawberry crop, which complement
the productive potential of the farm Santa Guadalupe. The height where
the farm is located, 1,300 meters above sea level (4265 feet) helps to
grow the strawberries, since this is a fruit of cold lands.
