“Divina Providencia” Estate, Dipilto
Misael Sauceda Olivero
“Divina Providencia”, is the name of this modest farm
located in Dipilto. Its name comes from the Holy Scriptures. Let’s meet
this young Christian family, who assures us that they thank everyday the
Lord for the blessed fruits of their property.
Misael Sauceda learned about the hard work in the
coffee plantations since he was very young. By tradition he knows that
he has to wake up very early and take control of his small farm. He has
been elected three times by now in the contest “the cup of excellence”.
This is the reason why he personally takes care of his coffee.
It is almost a ritual to see him at dawn to
personally cup (as the professional tasters - cuppers) the aroma and
exquisite of its coffee. At the same time he fights with the cold
weather of the mornings in this location, Las Segovias.
His young wife, Delvis Olivas, takes care of their
two children to go to school. Although they are still kids, they are
already growing in a coffee ambiance. Missael and Delvis know very well
that in the future, when they grow older they will have to take over the
family tradition in order to have a better Standard of life. “We already
have a TV so the kids can have fun and even a truck to bring out the
coffee production… we are not missing anything now” tells us the
charming young woman with a full expression in her light brown eyes.
Almost immediately Misael affirms “Thanks to God we
have got better buyers and a better price per bag”. He continues
revealing us his closest projects, which is to broaden the variety of
coffee beans…. “It’s like a chain of blessings, we can grow more and
hire more workers and therefore to benefit more poor families like us”
“And regarding the environment, we are very proud to
teach even our youngest child Misaelito how to take care of the little
animals of the forest and to show our children how these creatures can
be of much help to our crops and to humans”. With this last comment
Misael tells us goodbye while heading to his farm. His wife tells him
goodbye while standing at the entrance of their humble house.
