Farm: “Buena Vista”- Jalapa, Nueva Segovia
I was born in San Juan de Limay, my mother is Ercilia
Gomez and my father Clemente Hernandez, when they first got married they
decided to sell some cattle and buy the farm I now cultivate, I was raised
here along with my nine siblings. I cultivate the land in a traditional
way. When the coffee is picked it is transported to the mill on donkeys.
Shade is provided by different types of tress common
to the area such as, guavas and musaceas. I gather my crop between the months
of December to March. The water I use in the farm comes from a mountain
spring. In my farm it is prohibited for anyone to hunt any type of animal,
we preserve the flora and fauna as much as possible, we make it a priority.
