Farm Details
Lot#: 2 José Efraín Espinales Bautista - El Recuerdo
Overview

In 1999, I inherited a farm from my parents. But in that time, the land was only for cattle pasture. A year later, I sold this farm to buy land in the community of El Volcan, Dipilto located in Nueva Segovia. A little mountain covered with guate trees, as well as a coffee plantation. In 2004 I became a small producer of 8.64 acres of coffee today and I have 6 years to produce coffee. This property was only my generation because I am a producer I have 6 years to produce coffee and I've just worked.

I received and took advantage of the technical advice provided by Las Segovias dry mill technicians. I knew my coffee was good but in previous years I didn’t obtain quality coffees because I did not give enough importance nor have good knowledge about the management and good production practices. Now we do our best picking selection, good practices in wet milling, imperfect selection of the parchment, then transport it as quickly as possible to the dry mill. My farm is in a privileged position, at an altitude of 1400 meters above the sea level. Good handling in dry mill, the support of Las Segovias dry mil, give me an opportunity to grow and improve in my coffee quality, and of course, the help of God always by my side.

I am very grateful to God first, even with Las Segovias Dry Mill, with the organizers of the event, ACEN, and I am very happy to get second place, very happy!
