Lot#: 20 Jaime José Molina Fiallos - Monte Cristo |
| | | | Overview Montecristo farm was property of my grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Fiallos and Concepcion Calderon (better known as Conchita Calderon in Ocotal). Then the property was inherited by my parents Adam Molina and Luz Fiallos de Molina. They handle the farm in a rustic way. Now I can say that we are a continuation of what they did. About 40 years ago, I inherited the farm from my parents and I have slowly been improving varietals (Bourbon and Caturra). Now the farm is technified, taking care of the shadow plants and plague and diseases control. It has been very useful to have worked maintaining the efforts and working with determination to date. It also helped me to visit other farms in places like Guatemala and El Salvador. And even more demand from the buyers for the quality they like. We have to work hard and pay attention to the wet milling, buy when it comes to selling the product, it’s well worth the sacrifice. The good quality is obtained from the beginning of the process. The picking personell who are encouraged by a fair wage, as well as recognition of their work. This motivates them by getting a good value for their efforts because of the careful cutting and harvesting are important factors for success. Then, with the care given in the wet milling process. It is also important to mention the special care in the service of dry milling, which I am very grateful to the Florence, SA with its administration. I feel very proud, happy and grateful because I have won 2 consecutive years and I’m recognized as a producer. and I have received phone calls from friends and relatives that are abroad, as well as coffee buyers. Thanks to Cup of Excellence Competition! | |
